Example:

GOUCL which is GOU+C+L

GOU - root for Google (one of the roots)
C - it's March Call
L - 460 Strike price

In futures strike prices are usually numeric. In stocks, strike prices are letters.
Root symbols can match stock symbol, but not always.
Expiration month is a letter. It also represents PUT or CALL.
